Speaker: Dipti Mehta

Dipti is a Specialist Endodontist and Consultant in Endodontics who currently divides her time between private referral practice in Buckinghamshire and teaching at King’s College, London (Guy's and KCH). She completed her specialist training in Endodontics at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute in 2015 to Distinction level, being awarded the Dentsply Maillefer Award for Endodontology. 

As a keen educator, Dipti provides endodontic education to undergraduates, postgraduates, general dental practitioners and fellow specialists. Her research interests include the clinical outcome of                          endodontic surgery, for which she was awarded a National prize from the British Endodontic Society. 
She has contributed to the Royal College of Surgeons (England) Guidelines on Surgical Endodontics and has been involved in the recent GDC Endodontic Specialty Training Curriculum update. 
Dipti is the Honorary Secretary of the British Endodontic Society, Co-Lead of the BES Early Careers Group and Past-Chair of The Langham Endodontic Study Group.

Aims:

The aim of this course is to facilitate the treatment planning of persistent endodontic infections in daily practice to achieve optimal outcomes.

 

During the session the course provider will:

  • Understand the aetiology of persistent endodontic disease. 
  • Demonstrate the process to diagnose the condition.
  • Discuss the latest evidence base for the predictable management of persistent endodontic disease. 
  • Use case studies to demonstrate the management of persistent endodontic disease.
  • Facilitate the provision of simple root canal re-treatment in general practice.

Learning outcomes:

Following the session delegates will be able to:

  • Comprehend the aetiology of persistent endodontic disease. 
  • Feel confident when diagnosing persistent endodontic disease.
  • Be able to use up to date evidence when treatment planning for success.
  • Learn practical GP removal techniques for managing simple re-treatment cases in general practice.
