Speaker: Angie Heilman
Angie is a highly experience dental nurse having worked in a variety of dental specialities, with sedation nursing as her clinical expertise. Angie splits her working week between Antwerp Dental Academy, as Director of Dental Education, and Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where she works as an Integration and Transformation Manager.
Angie is a past Dental Workforce Development Regional Advisor and DCP Tutor for Health Education England, she has been involved in various dental related committees both nationally and locally; allowing her to work as an ambassador for dental nursing. She has substantial experience as a tutor and quality assurance advisor across various dental nurse education programs, as well as undertaking consultancy work to support the development of further dental nurse qualifications.
Angie is a Board Member of the Faculty of Dental Nursing and Orthodontic Therapy, part of the College of General Dentistry; she is currently an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry. She was awarded the 2010 BADN Outstanding Contribution to Dental Nursing, and an MBE in 2012 for Services to Dental Nursing.

Aims:
Review policy & guidance available to primary dental care settings to support an evidence-based approach to infection, prevention and control.
Course objectives
Discuss the impact of the global pandemic on the delivery of treatment in the primary dental care setting.
Discuss policy and guidance; sample risk-based guidance for the safe management of general dental practice
Facilitate the sharing of participants good practice from the resulting challenges.
Learning outcomes:
Following the course you will be able to;
Appraise the impact of the global pandemic on the safe delivery of treatment in the primary care dental setting.
Utilise the various policy and guidance to support the application of risk-based guidance and recommended SOP in the general dental setting.
Improve infection, prevention, and control in the general dental setting by sharing good practice; looking at challenges and their resolutions that have benefited your practice.
