BDS MSc FCGDent FFDS RCS Eng FHEA MDTFEd PGCME
GDP, Chair Essex Local Professional Network,  Professor of Oral Health Sciences & MSc Module Lead at University of Essex, Honorary Senior Lecturer, Accredited Level 2 Endodontist and Periodontist and Dento-Legal Expert. Nick qualified in 1990 from London Hospital where he continued to work as the House Surgeon in Prosthodontics. He moved into general practice and became a practice principal in 1994 in a two surgery practice. The practice has now developed into a multi-surgery practice over 3 sites with a wide skill mix that involves Hygienists, Therapists, Extended Duties Dental Nurses, Foundation Year 1 and Associate dentists. He gained an MSc with Distinction in Restorative Dental Practice from UCL Eastman and also works as the Chair of Essex Local Professional Network, an elected member of English and UK Councils at the BDA, Fellow of the College of General Dentistry and Faculty of Dental Surgery and a dental expert witness. In his spare time, he is an Opinion Leader and member of the Endodontic & Restorative Advisory Groups at Dentsply.

Aims:

This course aims to share information from national guidance on Primary Care Transformation in Dentistry, and help your practice efficiently generate UDAs with a team based approach to using the skill mix within your practice.

 

Course objectives

Describe current trends in Dental Primary Care Transformation in the East of England.

Highlight best practice when looking at how to implement the skill mix of the practice to generate UDAs efficiently.

Implement practical models with tips to support practice to drive future business.

Following the course you will be able to:

Confidently describe current trends in Dental Primary Care Transformation in the East of England.

Be able to implement changes in their practice will benefit the patient.

Consider how utilising skill mix in the practice will benefit the patient.
