Dental DWD 23/24 WOR024 Periodontics for Level 1 Dental Practitioners

Aims:

To provide up to date evidence-based knowledge on the diagnosis and management of periodontal diseases which can be applied directly to clinical practice and develop skill in the non-surgical management of periodontitis. 

 

Objectives:

  • To be able to correctly diagnose and classify a variety of periodontal diseases based on the recent 2018 World Workshop Classification
  • Improve confidence in treatment planning and applying the BSP Implementation of the S3 Guidelines to the treatment journey of a periodontitis patient
  • Increase confidence and skill with the use of ultrasonics and hand instruments in the non-surgical therapy of periodontitis    

Learning outcomes:

  • Applied periodontal anatomy, risk factors and being able to explain disease risk to patients.
  • The BSP implementation of both the 2018 World Workshop Classification and the S3 Stage I-III Guidelines.
  • Review techniques in ultrasonic and hand instrumentation to allow for effective non-surgical treatment of periodontitis

Information:

This course will be delivered over 7 sessions.   Delegates are required to attend all 7 sessions in order to receive their CPD Certificate.

Session 3 (online) Monday 5th February 2024 (18.00 - 21.00 hrs)

Session 4 (Charles Hastings Education Centre)  Saturday 17th February 2024 (09.00 - 16.00 hrs)

Session 5 (online)  Monday 19th February 2024 (18.00 - 21.00 hrs)

Session 6 (online)  Monday 4th March 2024 (18:00 – 21.00 hrs)

Session 7 (Charles Hastings Education Centre)  Saturday 16th March 2024 (09:00 – 16.00 hrs)

The course is interactive and therefore active participation is required failure to do so will result in non-attendance being logged and therefore result in no CPD Certificate being provided.
