NOR015: Dental DWD 21/22 - Reception Skills

During the session the course provider will: 

  • Look in-depth at the skills and aptitudes that ensure reception skills are consistently meeting the needs of patients, colleagues and the dental business.
  • Use case studies and action learning techniques to define training and development needs and emphasise the importance of analysing what works, so that with reflective learning specific strengths can be identified and used to strengthen areas of weakness.
  • Highlight the need to provide resources and clear definitions of reception skills and show their impact on patient care, so that training and development can be put into place to ensure the quality of reception skills is an asset to the practice and supports the work of the clinical team. 

Learning outcomes:

Following the session delegates will be able to: 

  • Recognise how excellent reception skills enable each member of the team to care for their patients 
  • Understand the impact of making patients feel cared about
  • Create ongoing professional development plans and targets for receptionists
  • Define how reception skills influence the patient experience
  • Understand the professional responsibilities of GDC non-registrants
