Competence in Composites - 2Day Course
07 March 2023 - 28 March 2023

Aims:

AIMS:
Day 1  - Anterior Composites
An understanding on the process involved in treatment planning anterior composite cases and how to fabricate and correctly use silicone indexes.
Improve technical ability to perform direct anterior restorations. Delegates will have the opportunity to restore a Class IV (central incisor) and plan and execute how to close a diastema.
Finishing and polishing techniques for achieving natural looking teeth.
Tips and advice involving isolation, adhesive techniques, layering of composite and building contact points.

Day 2  - Posterior Composites
Understand posterior tooth morphology
Management and prevention of posterior composite failures
Improve technical ability to perfect direct posterior composites (Class I and Class II Restorations)
Opportunity to use sectional matrix system
Tips and advice involving isolation and building of contact points
Managing the occlusion in direct restorations

OBJECTIVES:
Perform direct anterior and posterior restorations in the GDP setting

Learning outcomes:

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
An improved knowledge and technical ability of the use of composite in the anterior and posterior regions for restoring form and function
An improved understanding on the use of composites using minimally invasive techniques
Learn important tips and advice involving the use of rubber dam, adhesive techniques, layering of composite, building contact points and polishing

GDC Learning outcome C
