I am a qualified (Oxford Mindfulness Centre) mindfulness practitioner and nurse. I teach Mindfulness for Medics to undergraduate medical students at KCL , have spoken at numerous national and international conferences on the topic of mindfulness in medical education. I am the co-founder of MiME - Mindfulness in Medical Education (a sub group of ASME) I have run mindful crafting sessions at conferences for GPs. I love crafting and I keep bees.

Aims:
To have a greater understanding of how being more mindful might benefit us in our lives, studies, work and for our patients

Course objectives:
Discuss definitions of mindfulness
Give explanations and demonstrations of some of the practical applications of mindfulness with practical exercises that participants will be encouraged to join in with.
Use bibliotherapy to enhance the sessions
Learning content:
Apply simple mindfulness procedures to everyday life and work situations
Have access to daily mindfulness applications and well-being exercises
Be familiar with and know how to use the acronym NANA: noticing emotions and feelings, acknowledging them, naming those emotions and feelings and allowing them to be.
