Aims:

Aims: To provide the delegates with the ability to provide patients with naturally looking posterior onlays and crowns.

Objectives: 

  • Understand the indications and contra-indications of onlays and crowns
  • Understand the difference between mechanical and adhesive dentistry
  • Importance of thorough patient communication
  • Comprehensive assessment of the underlying tooth
  • Deeper exploration of occlusion in relation to posterior indirect restorations
  • Deep understanding of the planning stages for onlays & crowns and the relevant records required
  • Developing shade assessment techniques for posterior indirect restorations
  • Learn how to prepare teeth for onlays and crowns
  • Learn temporisation techniques
  • Importance of lab communication and transfer of records
  • Deep understanding of step-by-step cementation protocols 
  • Understand the maintenance required with these restorations
