Aims:
This 3-hour masterclass will provide trainers with the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of the communication challenges and difficulties faced by international medical trainees.
A leading English Language teacher and trainer, Rob Chambers, will explore the elements of English (including grammar, pronunciation, syntax, question formation, idiomatic verbs, tenses, cultural differences and influences) that get in the way of good, clear communication.
The aim is to help trainers recognise and understand any problems and difficulties their trainees are experiencing. There will also be a focus on techniques and adaptations that native English speakers can employ to facilitate understanding and greater fluency.

The aim is to help trainers recognise, understand and respond to any problems and difficulties their trainees are experiencing; feedback can be given, and the individual referred to the relevant sections of the Healthy English website and other resources.
