AIMS:
1) To provide current theory and practical updates on managing paediatric patients in a GDP setting.
2) Focusing on management of caries in primary teeth and the use of Preformed Metal Caps (Stainless Steel Crowns) on deciduous molars.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lecture/practical day delegates will be able to:
Confidently diagnose and manage caries in the primary dentition in practice
Manage and appropriately refer poor prognosis first permanent molars (due to caries and/or Molar Incisor Hypomineralisation)
Master the simple technique of placing Conventional and Hall Technique Preformed Metal Caps [‘Hands On’]
Discuss appropriate restorative materials in light of the new mercury free regulations in paediatric patients.
Improved understanding of local anaesthesia techniques/tips when undertaking treatment on pre-cooperative patients.
