NOR019: Dental DWD 21/22 - Oral Cancer Screening: Early Detection 
10 September 2021 

Aims:

It is a professional duty for Dental professionals to be familiar with the development and presentation of oral cancer. The average primary care clinician will rarely see these patients but nevertheless will be expected to be familiar with their initial management. 

During this session the course provider will: 

  • Describe the risk factors associated with the development of oral cancer
  • Define the appearance of squamous cell carcinoma in the oral cavity 
  • Explain how to assist in the recognition/early diagnosis of oral cancer

Learning outcomes:

Following the session delegates will be able to:

  • Describe the aetiology and risk factors - carcinogenesis and presentation of oral cancer
  • Successfully manage a patient who may have oral cancer 
  • Effectively use the referral pathway and two week proforma

This course meets GDC Development Outcomes: A, B, C & D


Information:

This event will be held in the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Colney Lane, Norwich NR4 7UY. An email regarding travel, parking, timings for the day and other information will be sent to delegates on the week of the event.

Please note that payment for the event is needed no later than 7 days prior to the event date in order to finalise numbers and catering. Payment can be made via the Accent Website.
