Speaker Angela Heilmann

Angie commenced work as a dental nurse in 1984; she has worked in general dental practice in Scotland and England, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics.  She is currently Director of DN Education for Antwerp Dental Academy, Cambridge; this role includes providing leadership and clinical supervision to members of the dental team. In the past Angie was a DCP tutor and  Dental Workforce Development (DWD) Regional Advisor for HEE.  
Focusing her career on dental education, has enabled her to gather knowledge and skills that is shared with awarding organisations (University of Bedfordshire & NCFE/CACHE) through consultancy work. 
BADN Past- President (2007-2009) 
NEBDN Examiner since 2003. 
Awarded BADN Outstanding Contribution to Dental Nursing 2010
Angie was also awarded an MBE in the 2012 New Year’s honours list for services to dental nursing.

 


 



Aims:

Review policy & guidance available to primary dental care settings to support an evidence based approach to infection, prevention and control

 During the session the course provider will:

  • Discuss the impact of the global pandemic on the delivery of treatment in the primary dental care setting
  • Discuss policy and guidance; sample risk based guidance for the safe management of general dental practice
  • Facilitate the sharing of participants good practice from the resulting challenges 

Following the session delegates will be able to:

  • Appraise the  impact of the global pandemic on the safe delivery of  treatment  in the primary care dental setting
  • Utilize the various policy and guidance to support the application of risk-based guidance and recommended SOP in the general dental setting
  • Improve infection, prevention and control in the general dental setting by sharing good practice; looking at challenges and their resolutions that have benefited your practice
