Information:
This 1-day course is for Wessex Specialist Training Registrars (C/ST3+) who undertake any aspect of teaching.The information on the course is to help improve teaching overall in the NHS and the focus is trainees helping other trainees. TT2 is all about facilitation skills. This course will be useful to those who have done teaching and who look towards becoming more of a guide during this process, rather than a “teacher” as such.
Previous attendance on Tomorrow’s Teachers or similar teaching course (e.g. an ALS or ATLS course) is essential
Cannot attend within 6 months of attending TT
Teaching and supervising colleagues are important and integral parts of clinical practice. The role of the teacher is shifting from a didactic giver of information to a facilitator of learning. Additionally, as trainees move into a Consultant/General Practitioner role they will be frequently called upon to facilitate and lead meetings. The course focuses particularly on teaching in the workplace.
