NOR003: EoE046: Record Keeping and Consent

Aims:

Effective Dental Records can help clinicians reach an accurate diagnosis, by providing detailed information about the changing oral health status of a patient.  Detailed records can also help to prevent adverse incidents occurring.  We must seek consent before any investigation or treatment, we will discuss the criteria that must be fulfilled for consent from a patient to be valid.  

Learning outcomes:

Course Objectives

discuss what makes an effective dental record

describe the current regulations and guidelines relating to dental record keeping

explain how effective consent can be gained and recorded.

Explain the current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern record keeping

Identify effective record keeping
